MBA - Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Master of Information Systems Management (Swinburne University).

“Ultimately, it’s not the technology but how you use the technology that delivers enduring results.”

Over nearly 20 years of experience in business, Sean Elwick has realised that you have to treat organisations facing major change like living organisms, rather than rigid structures.

His early career as an information systems professional provided a solid grounding in handling complex change management programs.  Over the years he saw that the critical success factors were not simply how well you execute technical change – that dependent success factors such as business and people processes, culture, capital assets and organisational design had to be addressed, or else any information system change is unsustainable.

Today, Sean is a highly experienced leader of major change programs that might contain a strong information technology component but impact all aspects of a business.

He brings this perspective to Board and executive levels to develop a strategy with multifaceted outcomes relevant to all stakeholders and a strong governance framework.  He works within a business, with the business, to manage internal stakeholders, suppliers and other external stakeholders to deliver sustainable change with clear financial, information and customer benefits.

Sean’s leadership and execution capability are invaluable to companies who have fractured, legacy or jury-rigged information systems that are restricting rather than opening up opportunities.  He knows that information is power to a business, and that many businesses struggle to realise their full potential because they cannot access and sort the information locked within their IT frameworks and then embed the value long-term.

Sean has been a Program Manager, Project Director and Project Management on major transformation projects and is a former Associate Partner of IBM Business Consulting Services (IBM BCS) and an ex-Director of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (CGEY).  He has also been a guest lecturer at Melbourne University and Swinburne University of Technology on Systems Project Management.
